Our Story
MALKIELE (pronounced Mal-kee-EH-leh) was born to fulfil a specific mission: to create the most sophisticated hair accessories designed especially for HAIR HEALTH and STYLE.
MALKIELE brand creates using environmentally-friendly materials, packaging and processes without compromising sustainability.
The brand was founded by former European finance lawyer Marina in Latvia in 2020. MALKIELE.com was launched in 2022.
The brand’s idea is based on a need that many women have to resolve the following problems: hair damage from regular hair accessories, pain and lost hair when removing common hair ties, poor quality of hair accessories and lack of style and exclusivity in hair adornments.
All of MALKIELE's exclusive accessories are handcrafted by talented European artisans in the greenest country in the EU - Latvia.
The difference between MALKIELE’s creations and other brands’ silk hair accessories is very significant: MALKIELE’s work has a solid stylistic foundation, is exclusive in its product quality and craftwork, provides a volumizing effect to the hair, silk scrunchies do not lose their shape after use, and our creations do not appear to be made of common cloth material due to our unique design. In addition, our handiwork features our iconic silk hand-knitting style for beautifully embellished silk knit headbands and scrunchies.

We are passionate about sustainability and the environment is important to us. This is why we choose to use less packaging whenever possible.
It is with this purpose in mind that we created the special MALKIELE Signature paper packaging.
By default, all purchases are delivered in MALKIELE’s Signature minimal packaging, unless you select the Magnetic box option during checkout.
To reduce production and waste, we won't send you more than you need.
All supplementary elements that might be required (e.g. dust-proof pouches, round velvet boxes, gift wrapping) are available to add to your order separately.
We have also planned our logistics to reduce fuel usage: our production is located in a single country, where all our items are crafted. We do not import our products, with the exception of certain raw materials.
All in all, the processes and materials used to create MALKIELE’s exclusive accessories are designed to be as environmentally-friendly as possible.

All MALKIELE hair accessories and other exclusive pieces are handcrafted in the greenest country in the EU: Latvia.

Premium materials
MALKIELE mainly uses carefully selected Italian mulberry silk in order to be as gentle as possible to your hair while also preventing any and all kinks and creases that can be caused by regular scrunchies, hair ties and headbands.
Silk is a supremely soft material and, as such, it is the best choice for hair accessories when aiming to reduce hair loss, hair damage, split ends and prevent breakage.
We care about making the highest quality hair accessories. This is why we have decided that MALKIELE scrunchies and headbands should be embellished with nothing less than genuine Swarovski® crystals and pearls and other high quality crystals and pearls.
Meanwhile, for our silk knit headbands and silk knit ribbons for scrunchies, we use pure Mulberry silk yarn.
